In this episode Patrick welcomes the one and only Dave Acosta. Dave Acosta is a mental fitness coach, motivational speaker and corporate culture expert and trainer. He has been a featured keynote speaker at corporate events and is highly sought after for his Elite Leadership presentations and camps. He works with individual athletes, business professionals, coaching staffs and corporate organizations.
Dave is recognized for his ability to help elite individuals and corporations embrace new perspectives, which lead to a paradigm shift. His innovative approach and passionate delivery have an immediate effect on participants. One of the most common phrases used by clients to describe his presentation is “life-changing”.
For over 20 years Dave has worked side by side with some of the world’s most elite performers. He began his law enforcement career in Las Vegas where he spent 9 years working in specialized units, including six years as the point man on the North Las Vegas SWAT Team. He later became an international tactical instructor and team leader for high-risk protection teams in Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa and Latin America. He has conducted hundreds of real-world tactical missions and his company continues to provide protection and tactical training to clients around the globe. Dave works overseas with hand-picked operators and instructors that include former Navy Seals, Special Forces, and Marine Recon, operators.
Over the last 20 years, Dave has focused on studying what makes these men so different from others. He uncovered four common characteristics that every elite performer possesses. These apply to all elite performers, whether they are competing in athletics, the corporate environment or the battlefield. The characteristics of success are the same regardless of the environment. The basic qualities that make a Navy Seal “elite” are the same qualities found in a pro-bowl NFL player, an Olympian, an extremely successful entrepreneur or a champion triathlete.

In this episode, Patrick welcomes Dylan Volk. After years of what his parents called “the diagnosis of the month club,” Dylan was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism at the age of eight. Life has been a minefield of obstacles for Dylan. When he was little, he struggled with learning the rules and following directions that did not make sense to him. As he got older, he was challenged, especially socially, by a world that seemed extremely confusing to him, with a disability that to most was invisible. Even today, Dylan works hard to figure out what he needs to do in order to get through each day as a 27-year-old adult with autism in our fast-paced and often unforgiving society.
Dylan graduated from Sedgefield High School in 2010 and is currently pursuing his goal of making it in the entertainment industry. He has a YouTube channel under his stage name “Real Dielawn” where viewers are treated on a daily basis to a look inside his one-of-a-kind mind. Dylan has also been a regular on SiriusXM’s “Dirty Pop Live” hosted by Lance Bass, heard formerly on OutQ Channel 106 and RadioAndy Channel 102. He has hosted his own radio show, “Ridin with Dielawn” which aired Saturday nights in Portland, Maine on WLOB 100.5-FM and via his podcast.
Dylan has been enjoying his experiences speaking about his life and the book he wrote with his father. His presentations to thousands of people from coast to coast have been overwhelmingly well-received. He hopes his work helping his father write Chasing the Rabbit: A Dad’s Life Raising a Son on the Autism Spectrum and his new book, Bad Choices Make Good Stories: My Life with Autism, will help families as they navigate through the difficulties of living life on the spectrum. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.

In this episode, Patrick welcomes Jay Dobyns. Jay was a federal agent for twenty-seven years before retiring in 2014. He achieved worldwide notoriety as one of history's most daring undercover operators during high-octane missions targeting America's violent crime. Often playing the role of a shrewdly-calculating hitman or mob debt collector infiltrating scores of deadly criminal enterprises while living among street and prison gangs, anti-government extremists, gunrunning groups, drug traffickers and organized crime members, bomb builders, home invasion robbery crews and "murder-for-hire" suspects.A defense attorney once described Jay as: "...a government-trained ‘Predator’ repeatedly sent on seek and destroy missions in search of drugs, guns and violence, with instructions to succeed at any cost and without regard for the agent himself or those he crosses paths with.”Jay is perhaps best known for his landmark effort against the notorious Hells Angels. He was the first-ever lawman to defeat the gang’s multilayered security measures getting inside to become a member of their legendary Skull Valley charter. Jay's book about that investigation - No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels - is a New York Times and international bestseller. His follow-up book - Catching Hell, A True Story of Abandonment and Betrayal - is a memoir that details the events of his life and career. Jay is a highly-sought public speaker relating his unique experiences to corporate audiences and providing training for 1st Responder events across the country.

I was recently in Miami attending The Conclave of Warriors Conference, and I have to say it was one of the best conferences I have attended. The speakers were world class, and I learned so much from each of them. My friend Rafa Conde did a fantastic job (I like the word fantastic =)), and I look forward to Conclave of Warriors 2.0. In this solo episode, I wanted to talk about some of the key takeaways I got from the weekend and how I am going to start implementing these takeaways more in my life. If you don't have a vision and mission for your life, you need to get one NOW! Remember that you only have this one life. If you don't sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice.
