Any success you have in your life is going to come incrementally. Success doesn't happen overnight like some say. You have to work hard to receive results and often those results come with time - hence, incrementally.

I frequently hear people say, I want to go back to the time when....(fill in the blank). You are never going back to that time. You have to adapt to the one constant - Change. You can either go with it or go kicking and screaming because it's moving forward.
Sure, no one likes change but this is where your growth and opportunities are. A new boat doesn't get tested sitting in the harbor, it has to go out to sea to see if it can handle it. The same is true with you.
The past is the past - It's NEVER coming back. We all make mistakes and wish we could have done things differently, but you are NOT the mistakes you have made.
You chart your own path. The future is where it's at.

We all want instant gratification. That is just the world we live in. However, there are no shortcuts to your health and happiness. You have to put in the work. There are no "magic pills" for this. Remember if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
Hard work, dedication, and focus will get you to the place you want to be. Don't fall for the shortcuts because there aren't any.

I want to take a moment and acknowledge the first responder families and the hard and often difficult times they go through living with a first responder. FHE Health and Shatterproof is working on more resources for first responder families and I will have more information for everyone as we progress. It's about time that more resources were developed for families.
First responder families, spouses, partners are so critical to the health and welfare of our brave men and women who serve . And, you might not realize how important you are but you are. God Bless you all for standing with your first responder.

I had a great interview with Melissa Kaiser recently. Melissa is a licensed social worker specializing in anti-human trafficking work, developing/maintaining multi-disciplinary teams, and secondary traumatic stress and officer wellness. Melissa is a certified trainer in Green Dot, Compassion Fatigue, GEMS, Stand to Protect, My Life My Choice, and SHARP, and is Child Welfare and Safe Zone/PRIDE trained. She has eight years of experience providing national/international training and technical assistance, and case management to victims of human trafficking. Melissa has trained over 12,000 students and professionals, and currently sits on the Badges of Unity Board for Fargo PD. Melissa's past experience includes treatment foster care, prevention education, and psychiatric and addictions. She was the first Human Trafficking Navigator and Victim/Witness Specialist in ND, with six years of program development within ND. Melissa was a nominee for the YWCA's Women of the Year 2020. She currently resides in Clearwater, FL.
