We make decisions all the time. Some of the decisions we need to make we don't. We kick them down the road and hope they will solve themselves if we don't think about them. Procrastination. We are all guilty of it. Maybe it's a professional decision. Maybe its a personal decision. Maybe you need help with an addiction or you need to speak with someone about things your struggling with. Things don't have a chance to get better unless you act.
We have this one life. This one chance to make our mark and live the life we were born to live.
Make the move forward. Act!

It was such an honor to have Kristen Ziman on the show. She is a sought after speaker, published author of Reimagining Blue and former Police Chief of Aurora Police Department in Auroral IL. Reimagining Blue is a passionate and personal analysis of a misunderstood profession from the vantage point of female police chief Kristen Ziman. Ziman credits her colorful childhood for the temperament that led her to gravitate toward policing, a profession where chaos is all in a day's work.
We cover a lot of topics in this episode. From Kristen's calling to police work, her rise in the ranks as a female officer, leadership, mental health with first responders and much more.

Learn to become unstoppable. Get focused on what you want in your life. Life goes by too fast so you might as well go for what you want. The majority of people go to their grave thinking about one thing - Regret. Regret they didn't take more chances. Regret they lived their life based on the expectation of someone else.
You have control of your life. Start taking the steps you need to make it better. Not tomorrow, not in a week. Today!
Go out and conquer your day and stay tuned for more great guests on the CJEvolution Podcast.

People often ask me what makes FHE Health and Shatterproof for First Responders so special. I give them two responses. 1) Their unique program that is designed specifically for the first responder community, and 2) The amazing people that work in the Shatterproof Program. Most of the people on the Shatterproof Team are former First Responders or Military Veterans which means THEY GET IT. They have been where you are and reached out for help.
One of those amazing individuals is a good friend of mine, Jimmy Keefe. Jimmy Keefe, a retired firefighter and Resident Manager in Shatterproof FHE Health treatment program for first responders. Jimmy spent 27 years fighting fires in his hometown of New Brunswick, New Jersey. During that time, he witnessed 40 deaths and made some harrowing rescues.
One of them was a five-year-old girl. By the time Keefe was able to pull her from the flames and carry her out of a burning building, she was unconscious, having endured third-degree burns that covered 72 percent of her body. At the time, Keefe was a young firefighter—just 22—and the traumatic memories of that night would haunt him years later. They would return in dreams, flashbacks and intense feelings of guilt and failure that he eventually tried to numb with drugs and alcohol.
Jimmy eventually reached out for help and his treatment at Shatterproof, like me, saved his life. Keefe is an advocate for treatment and recovery not just because he sees it every day in the lives of other first responders, but he understands how the trauma and depression with first responders work.
Jimmy was an instrumental figure in my recovery at Shatterproof and I am honored and grateful to call him a good friend.
We dive deep in this show, and Jimmy talks openly about his journey. Find Jimmy here:

Sach an honor to have my next guest on the show, Sachin "Sach" Latti. Many people who are in recovery look for something to keep them going. To keep them motivated. Sach decided to start running and now he is competing at the highest levels. Sach never though of himself of a runner but he is doing it because he has the drive and focus to go for his dreams. Do you?
Sach has suffered like everyone, but he didn't let his suffering hold him back like most do. Sach talks openly about his background and how he recognized behaviors that contributed to the unhealthy lifestyle he was living. Sach continues to grow and challenge himself to become a man beyond his past experiences. He also was diagnosed with PTSD as a result of serving as a First Responder and as a result is on the journey of healing.
His spirit and drive is amazing. He strives for continual growth and has set some significant goals for himself. He is currently training to help raise awareness and funding for First Responders who suffer from PTSD.

You might be thinking why do bad things and events always happen to me? Why do I always find myself in the same situations? One problem might be repeated behaviors. Doing the same things often lead to the same results. Maybe its time to shake things up a bit and do things differently? Seek out that mentor or people that can help you elevate to a better level.
Remember as hard as it might be you are exactly where you need to be right now - even though it sucks. I believe that nothing "just happens to me". Everything that happens is for a purpose and I am right where I need to be in this moment in time. When I was at my lowest, I knew that things would get better. I knew there was help for me and I knew I was in my place for a reason.
Stay strong and stay steadfast. You are at the place you are for a reason. The reason is yours to discover.

Be honest with yourself. You might be able to fool people around you but that internal voice inside of you encourages you to be honest with yourself. I know its hard. We don't want to admit our faults or weaknesses but when you are completely honest with yourself it's like a weight gets lifted off your chest.
As humans we want to please others. We want recognition and praise. There is nothing wrong with that but if you are struggling with personal and professional challenges you need to conduct an internal search warrant on yourself and above all be honest with where you are in your life. The bottom line is we can all be better and improve.
But it starts with taking a long and often hard look at ourselves. You can do it. I believe in you and the journey you are about to take. Chin up - You got this!
I hope you have a great and productive day. Please be safe.
