A big thanks to YOU, The criminal justice professional. Whatever you are doing in the first responder field thank you for doing it. There is a lot of negativity directed towards first responders these days but remember that the majority of people support you. Keep doing an amazing job and be safe.

We can and will help you. Reach out today 303.960.9819.

Hello everyone and welcome back to Microcast Monday. Short bursts of inspiration and motivation to get you started on your day. If you love this show and others, please share with your family and friends. Give us that 5-Star Rating and Review on Apple Podcasts.
Thank you. Thank you for protecting and serving everyday. There is a lot of negative talk about law enforcement in this country but remember this. The vast majority of people support you. Keep doing a great job and please be safe.
Personal and Professional challenges get to us all. Sometimes we fall into depression, and isolation and start self-medicating. Remember you are not alone. Just because you are suffering doesn’t mean you need to stay there. If you are struggling with addiction, mental health challenges, or both, please reach out. My life changed for the better when I took that step forward. I am so grateful for FHE Health and The Shatterproof Program for First Responders. Reach out to me directly at 303-960- 9819. https://fherehab.com/services/first-responders/
You know you need to make a decision on something. Maybe its personal. Maybe its professional. You know you have to take a step forward but you are fearful. You are afraid of making the wrong decision. You are afraid of what people will think.
Life is taking chances. You sometimes fail, and you sometimes win with your decision but you need to take a step forward and make it. Often the thing we know we need to do is the exact step we need to take.
No one can do it for you. You have to do it yourself. When you were learning how to walk people were there to coach, hold and encourage you to take your first step. It's the same now with your decision. You have to do it.
You can do it. People believe in you. I believe in you.
Go out and conquer your day.

So excited to have my next guest on the show - Mike Edwards (AKA Mike the Cop). While many know Mike through his hilarious social media posts which explore the humorous side of police work and community interactions, a lot of people don't know that Mike is serious about making the profession better. Mike is a successful entrepreneur and a sought after speaker.
In this episode Mike and I scratch the surface on some issues such as Mental Health and Wellness for First Responders, The State of Law Enforcement and Ways to improve to some political opinions. Now I often shy away from political banter, but we dove in a little - Listener beware =)
FHE Health is excited to have Mike The Cop attend and MC our upcoming fundraising event - https://fherehab.com/learning/therapy-dog-fundraiser-luncheon

Today, I want you to write down all of your fears and worries. I then want to write down what you are doing to mitigate those fears and worries. It might seem like a simple task, but I really want you to put some thought into this. Remember the majority of crap we worry and fear 1) Never comes to pass and 2) Is not as bad as we envisioned it in our minds.
I am not trying to downplay your worries and fears. Those are legitimate. Bad things happen. We all know this. I am just trying to convey that what you give energy to grows. If you learn to let go and lets things happen then you won't have that burden in your mind. This is very difficult and I still work on this everyday, but you can hold both spaces. Just focus your energy into a more positive direction and outcome.
You can do it. But like anything it requires work.
Thank you for what you are doing in the world and being you. Remember you are loved. Let go and blossom into the person you were meant to be.
Go out and conquer you day.

There are a lot of programs popping up now that tout first responder wellness and health. I am not saying they are bad, I am saying there is only one FHE Health and Shatterproof for First Responders. FHE Health has been in the wellness business for over 20 years. We are the best. If you are suffering please reach out to me today so I can help you on your journey of wellness and recovery. 303-960-9819 or 844-650-1399.

You were born to create. It is that simple. Everything you see right now. Right at this moment was created by someone who had a thought. That is the power of thought and you have that power inside of you. If you think bad thoughts guess what? You create more bad thoughts. The opposite holds true with good thoughts. So many people believe they are stuck in their currently reality. When you change your reality and you change your thoughts you start to create the life you want.
You are the power. You always have been and you always will be.
Go out and conquer your day and week. Stay tuned for more great episodes on the CJEvolution Podcast.

There are so many dedicated professionals who treat and help our brave men and women who serve. One happens to be on the show today - Dr. Sachi Ananda, Ph.D., LMHC, MCAP is responsible for providing clinical direction to FHE Health's specialized treatment program for first responders. Her #1 goal in her job is to help first responders return as soon as possible to their roles as public servants in their communities and families.
Dr. Ananda is a licensed mental health counselor, certified master’s-level addiction professional, and clinical sexologist. Her professional expertise and personal background groomed her for working with and relating to first responders and understanding their unique treatment needs. She specializes in trauma work, relationship therapy, and drug and process addictions recovery.
Growing up in a military family with a father in the Navy and a brother in the U.S. Marines, Dr. Ananda saw firsthand the impact that PTSD can have on the health and wellbeing of members of the military and first responders. She is trained in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Motivational Interviewing, relapse prevention, sex therapy, and family interventions— among other innovative therapeutic strategies that have proven effective for first responders. Dr. Ananda is originally from Vietnam. Her family came to the U.S. as refugees when she was a young child. They settled in the Pacific Northwest, which is where Dr. Ananda lived and worked for many years before eventually calling Florida “home.”
A great show with an amazing member of the FHE Health Family.

We all want pretty much the same thing. To be happy. Now that looks different among people, but happiness is happiness. The first step is to accept the reality you are in. There is no growth in living in the past. Sure your past is a part of you, but YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY YOUR PAST. The future you have always wanted awaits you. Live in the moment. Accept where you are right now and take steps to improve your life. Stop blaming others for where you are at right now. Take responsibility and if you need help remember you are not alone. You are never alone.

Kurt Dabb is a retired law enforcement professional with over two decades of experience. In 2021 Kurt was forced into a medical retirement and was told he was no longer qualified to be a cop anymore. Kurt suffered from PTSD and Addiction Challenges. Like most of us who face challenges, Kurt was devastated. Kurt went through dark times, but eventually came out after receiving treatment for his challenges. The key to this is that Kurt came forward. Something most of us are unwilling to do.
Kurt is still trying to figure it out but he knows he is not alone and his recovery is paramount in his life.
Kurt is a big advocate of first responder health and wellness and alternate forms of therapy. A great discussion with survivor.

The Hardest Battle you will ever fight is......with yourself. We all need to learn how to calm our minds. Be patient. Stay in the moment. Don't react of emotions - Most of the time that is the wrong action to take. You control every thought you have. You have the power. You have always had the power.
Change your thoughts and change your life.
