In this episode, Patrick welcomes Joe Buckner. Joe is the Founder and Visionary of Fort Collins’ only boutique boxing studio, Beautifully Savage: The Art of Pugilism. Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, Joe has a passion for the community and helping others to reach their goals and dreams. Joe spent his youth as a multi-sport athlete and later went on to play college football. After a series of unfortunate events though, life took an unexpected turn for Joe and led to a season of homelessness. Determined to fight for a better life, he became more motivated than ever to salvage his dreams and overcome even when defeat seemed imminent. Over time and with a lot of hard work, he paved his way to becoming a successful businessman and now entrepreneur. The many obstacles Joe had to overcome and his persistence in the face of failure birthed a deeply rooted passion to help others fight for their own dream – specifically through boxing. Now, with twenty-four years of sales experience, Joe is on a mission to teach others how to fight their own internal battles through self-reflection, dedication, and persistence. Joe has founded Beautifully Savage boxing gym. By teaching other’s the art of boxing and motivating the community through fitness, Joe is creating a space for others to fight for their lives and overcome barriers. Declaring that “Fighting Solves Everything,” Joe believes each person only needs to unleash their inner fighter to attain the life they have always dreamed of. Joe has dedicated his life to helping people reach their full potential through the sport of boxing as well as in his motivational speaking career. Joe was a featured speaker at TedX Arena Circle in September 2016.

In this episode Patrick welcome Officer Deon Joseph. Officer Joseph is a law enforcement consultant who has worked for the LAPD for over 24 years, twenty-two of those years in downtown Los Angeles’ Skid Row community. From patrolling the streets or providing a shoulder for the community to lean on to meeting with public figures and advocating for change, Deon is driven to create an environment conducive to change for the homeless and those trying to reclaim their lives from the grip of addiction. He is an honest, faithful, passionate and caring man – traits he pours into his daily life and activities.
For the past ten years, Deon has served as Senior Lead Officer in charge of safety of the people that live on Skid Row. Deon was able to help change the culture of Skid Row along with his fellow officers, via a grassroots approach as opposed to handcuffs. Over time, Deon discovered that he could not simply make arrests with any hopes of making lasting changes on Skid Row. Coupled with reducing crime in Skid Row, Deon helped build a better relationship between the LAPD and the homeless population they serve. Deon is considered a subject matter expert on Skid Row crime and culture and has been sought out by multiple news organizations, filmmakers, and politicians to speak on issues related to Skid Row.
To accomplish changes to the culture of Skid Row, Deon collaborated with the community to develop programs such as the “Just Like U” Mentor program, which began in 2006 at the Union Rescue Mission. The program was designed to motivate kids living in poverty to see themselves beyond their negative circumstance by placing mentors in front of them who have become successful, but whose lives mirrored the lives of the children.
In 2008, Deon created an education safety and self-defense seminar focused on the women of Skid Row called “Ladies Night.” The goal of this program was to ensure that the women of Skid Row understood that no matter their race, criminal background or socioeconomic status, they had a fundamental right to report domestic violence and sexual abuse committed against them, and they would not be penalized for doing so.
In 2009, Deon began an outreach program with seven other officers that included passing out hygiene kits, as well as drug, housing, and job program information to the homeless to guide them away from the streets and into area programs. Working with housing programs within and outside of Skid Row, Deon was able to help house over 100 homeless people over eight years who were truly ready to take a chance and change their lives for the better. Deon along with his fellow officers were responsible for a 40% reduction in overall crime in Skid Row, and a 32% reduction in death from 2005 to 2009.
Deon, with the help of the Skid Row community, has aggressively focused crime-fighting efforts on drug dealers who are not homeless and come down to Skid Row to sell drugs and alcohol inside and outside of the drug programs.
Deon goes beyond policing the community of Skid Row, he has become a part of it, establishing relationships with a community that most believed would be impossible to do. Deon is proud to be able to show love to the people of Skid Row from an unexpected place. “I just want to be a strong voice in ending homelessness, saving women from being victimized and changing the negative culture and perception of police in the community,” he remarks. Although Deon does not engage in his efforts for accolades, he has been honored citywide and nationally for his work.
Deon’s selflessness was instilled in him by his heroes, his parents. His parents dedicated their lives to helping others whether they were homeless, abused children or anyone else who needed support. Embracing the early examples and life lessons of his parents, Deon personifies a legacy of community outreach and support that he hopes his own three sons will pass onto the world.

In this episode Patrick welcomes Purdeep Sangha
Purdeep is an authority on performance psychology, mindfulness, leadership, and business growth. He is also a leader in the science and art of Self-Mastery.
His inspiration for The Male Entrepreneur was his father, who ironically passed away shortly before seeing Purdeep’s vision come true. His father was an entrepreneur who had immigrated here from India with $11 in his pocket. He worked a minimum wage labor job for many years before starting his own business. Purdeep learned many lessons from his father. Positive attributes such as: values, being strong as a man, masculinity, and never giving up. But he also learned the challenges that came along with being a struggling entrepreneur: the feelings of guilt, not being good enough, and addictions. Seeing his father struggle and having struggled himself, Purdeep’s motivation is to ensure that other male entrepreneurs have the knowledge, tools and skills to create a more profitable business and fulfilling life for them and their family.
He grew up in small town in British Columbia, Canada. He started working on an orchard at the age of 9 and at 16, he was managing over 50 people. He still considers himself to be an orchard boy as his family still has an orchard growing apples and cherries.
Throughout his years, Purdeep was committed to studying successful businesses and was determined to find out what made one entrepreneur more successful over another. He spent thousands of hours studying the best businesses around the world and also attended four of the top business schools in North America such as MIT, Stanford, Ivey and Schulich. Prior to starting his own business, Purdeep was a successful executive at a multi-billion-dollar organization and led various divisions and initiatives such as Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience, Operations, Project Management, and Innovation.
Now, Purdeep dedicates his time to helping other entrepreneurs and spending time with his family.
He also loves to podcast, workout, learn new things, and spend time in nature with animals.

Hello Everyone and welcome back to the show. It's time for MICROCAST MONDAY.
In this episode Patrick talk about 6 Ways to Break Worry Before it Breaks you. This is taken from the late great Dale Carnegie. Lifetime Plan for Success. How to Win and Influence People.
1) Crowd worry out your mind by keeping busy. Plenty of action is one of the best therapies ever devised for curing worry.
2) Don't fuss about trifles. Don't permit little things - the mere termites of life - to ruin your happiness.
3) Use the law of averages to outlaw your worries. Ask yourself: "What are the odds against thing's happening at all?"
4) Cooperate with the inevitable. If you know a circumstance is beyond your power to change or revise, say to yourself: "It is so; it cannot be otherwise."
5) Put a "stop-loss" order on your worries. Decide just how much anxiety a thing may be worth - And refuse to give it any more.
6) Let the past bury its dead. Don't saw sawdust.
