Hello everyone and welcome back to the show. In this episode, Patrick talks about the importance of creating a morning routine to start your day. Many successful people start their day  with a morning ritutal that is tailored to them. Many of them start their day with meditation. If you don't think this will benefit you, try this simple test. Every morning when you get up start the day by closing your eyes, talking some deep breaths and concentrate on being grateful for 3 things in your life (Meditate on this) for a few minutes. It can be people in your life, your health etc. How do you feel after you have thought about this? I bet you feel better. The US Military and professional sports teams have tapped into the benefits of meditation and gratitute, why shouldn't you?

In this episode, Patrick welcomes back retired and decorated NYPD Detective Vic Ferrari. Vic appeared the the podcast in episode 56. Vic retired after 20 years of service and he was a former Bronx resident who now resides in Florida. Vic is the author of Dickheads and Debauchery and Other Ingenious Ways to Die (2016) and he has a new book out, NYPD Through the Looking Glass - Stories from inside America's Largest Police Department. In this episode Vic shares his experiences and stories working for th biggest agency in the world. A very funny episode.

CJ Evolution / February 2nd, 2018 / Episode 175 - Retired Marine Corps Officer and Endurance Athlete - Eric McELVenny

Hello everyone and welcome back. In this episode, Patrick welcomes Eric McELVenny. Eric is an endurance athlete living in Pittsburg, PA. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from the United States Naval Academy while preparing for his service as a Marine Corps Infantry Officer. Eric deployed three times as a Marine and on his final tour, and incredible experience in the Helmand Province, Afghanistan, left him wounded after stepping on an IED. Eric suffered the amputation of his right leg below the knee, a life-changing opportunity that began his next journey.
Faced with a physical challenge and an uncertain future, Eric made a promise to himself to run an Ironman Triathlon. On his journey from the hosptial bed in Southern California to the finish line in Kona Hawaii, he realized that the challenge and adversity he was up against and the techniques he used to reach the finish line could be used against the challenges we all entertain. When not training, racing and delivering inspiration Eric can be found with his wife, Rachel and three children. A great show with a true inspiration and hero.
