Monday Jan 27, 2020
Hello everyone and welcome back to MicroCast Monday. Special thanks to all the brave men and women who work in the criminal justice field and who protect us everyday. Thank you so much. Remember you are honored and loved. Keep up the great work.
If you haven't picked up my EVOLVE Micro book you need to. This is a must have book that I wrote for you the criminal justice professional. It's small and easy to read and I did that for a reason. I know how busy you are. But, it's filled with vital information and knowledge that you need to be successful in your personal and professional life. Hit me up on social media, PM me or email me and I will get you an autographed copy of EVOLVE.
If you want a FREE ebook version of EVOLVE head over to www.cjevolution.com
On to MicroCast Monday.
Sarah Lewis said the the following " Grit is not just a simple elbow-grease term for rugged persistence. It is often an invisible display of endurance that lets you stay in an uncomfortable place, work hard to improve upon a given interest and do it again and again."
We all have talents - Often many talents, but talent alone won't get you were you want to go. How many people do you know who are talented and are wasting their talents, and not going anywhere? I know many. No, the real successful people not only have the talent but they also have the GRIT. What is GRIT? My definition is when you try something and you fail and you get back up and go after it again and again until you succeed. That is a drive that a lot of people don't have, and that is what is going to separate you from your competition. See, there is less competition at the top because most people don't play at those levels.

Welcome back everyone. I am very excited to have with Dr. Jaquish on the show. Dr. John Jaquish began his experience in life sciences after being told by his Mother that she had been diagnosed with osteoporosis. John, to help his mother, created a device to place axial loading through bone to safely cause osteogenic loading events. The device was to trigger the effects of high-impact loading, but without the risk of injury.
After successfully reversing his Mother's osteoporosis, as part of his doctoral dissertation in biomedical engineering research at Rushmore University, he conducted four years of testing with human subjects focused on user comfort, biomechanics, and optimal musculoskeletal stimulation. Next, the device he designed was put into production, and has since been placed in over 300 clinics worldwide. Osteogenic loading has now helped over 30,000 individuals with their bone health. Published data has shown, treatment with this osteogenic loading device has resulted in over 14% gains in bone density in both the spine and hip over one year of once-weekly treatment.
Dr. Jaquish is currently advancing osteogenic loading research and speaking worldwide about its implications, as well as developing other biotechnology devices and products that will aid in the advanced health and wellbeing of people all around the world. He formerly a member of the Board of Directors of American Bone Health, and the editorial board of the Journal of Steroids and Hormonal Science.
Dr. Jaquish is also a partner with Tony Robbins, and Dr. Jaquish is the inventor of Osteostrong Devices and the X3 System. The x3 Bar System is a must have, if you want to get your body and mind into peak condition. Find it here:

On to the show with Craig “Sawman” Sawyer. Such an honor having Sawman stop by the podcast.
Craig grew up near Houston, TX and got his tactical start in the U.S. Marine Corps. He quickly transitioned to the U.S. Navy to pursue high-level Special Operations as a U.S. Navy SEAL. As an Operator on the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU), Craig gained critical combat experience that is now being utilized to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Because of his experience as a federal criminal investigator, Craig is uniquely qualified to run joint sting operations with law enforcement agencies and allied NGOs.
Sawman is now dedicating his life to raising awareness about the epidemic of child sex trafficking, rescuing victims, and putting predators behind bars. Craig created Vets4childrescue in 2017.

On this Microcast Monday episode, I want to talk a little about the benefits of sleep. I remember as a first responder, I thought I could get by on 4-5 hours of sleep a night and I did for many years. I thought with a little sleep I would be operating at 100%. Wrong! Your body needs it's sleep and so much is connected with good sleep. Your health, Your mindset and your motivation are connected for starters.
Here are some benefits of good sleep:
1) You will have a sharper brain - When you don't get enough sleep you might have problems remembering details and recalling events.
2) Mood boost - When you get enough sleep you are generally in a better mood.
3) Healthier Heart - When you sleep your blood pressure goes down. When you don't get enough sleep your blood pressure stays elevated.
4) Athletic Achievement - Lack of sleep robs you of your motivation, which gets you to the finish line.
5) Steadier blood sugar - Not getting enough sleep can increase your chances of diabetes.
6) Germ Fighting - Lack of sleep can affect the way your body fights off germs. You can get sick more often.
7) Weight control - When you are well rested, your are less hungry.
Is too much sleep bad? Too much of anything isn't good for you. Research indicates you should get at least 6-8 hours of sleep a night. Find out more information here:

On the to show with Herb Thompson.
Herb had a successful military career in which became the only person ever to earn the Green Beret and Army Drill Sergeant of the Year award. Finishing up his military career he had doubts about leaving the military and becoming a civilian. The Army was the only thing he knew since enlisting at the age of 17. Like most veterans, the transition process was not easy for him, and he had bad days filled with self-doubt. However, after over 2,000 informational interviews, thousands of hours of internet research, and hundreds of hours of personal reflection, he found his way. He landed a job at a top-tier Management Consulting firm and a seat in the Executive MBA program at Cornell University. In his free time, Herb has mentored hundreds of transitioning service members.
Herb wrote the very popular book The Mission Transition. This book is for military members who are transitioning into the civilian world, maybe now and in the future. This book is not a checklist to follow for a soft landing upon exiting the military. There is no possible checklist, every service member’s situation is unique. What Herb has done is lay out a different approach and way of thinking for the transition. Instead of teaching you what to think he opens your eyes with how to think about the transition. Herb doesn’t sugar coat the process but reveals his failures in transition and demonstrates vulnerability with personal anecdotes from hanging up his uniform. The reality of transition. The hard questions you need to answer. Techniques to be successful. Ways to succeed and others destined for failure.
Herb is also an ambassador of Green Marines.
The Green Marines believe we need stop relying on the Government and corporations to make changes on our behalf. We need to stand up and take account of our own actions, our own choices. Be responsible for our own future and make changes from the base up. This is a generation where the peoples voice is stronger than ever, and we have the potential to make real changes that matter. The Green Marines welcome everyone and celebrate them at their best. We help others get out and reconnect with the planet one micro mission at a time. The Green Marines provide inspiration, aspiration and education all in one place. We advocate and encourage positive solutions to modern life. We believe in small, impactful action and that small steps aggregate to make global change. The Green Marines provide micro solutions from across a diverse community of advocates. We don’t preach or push green values. We don't attempt to create change by shouting, blaming, or indicting the actions of others. The Green Marines are not haters, we are the positive media. We build a community with a common goal and drive to make life better, not in a ‘hold hands around a tree’ kind of way but through micro action, adventure and respect for the environment. We don't talk about all going off grid tomorrow. We advocate bending the current trend away from anonymity and back towards a positive future.
Such an amazing individual

For the rest of this great day I want you to think about and reflect on what I am about to tell you.
Forgive yourself.
Forgive yourself for making those mistakes you have make with your personal and professional life. Unless you forgive yourself first, it will be very hard for you to move forward and be successful. Here are some ways to help you.
1) Remember that it's ok to feel guilty, but understand there is a difference between guilt and shame. Guilt serves a purpose, shame does not.
2) Admit you messed up - We all mess up at points, but stop blaming others.
3) Apologize to anyone you may have hurt.
4) Imagine what forgiveness would feel like.
5) Write yourself an apology.
6) Learn from your mistakes - Stop doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. That is insane.
7) Be Patient - Don't rush things, especially the feelings of others. First you can't control it and when you rush things you will probably make them worse.
8) Don't try to change other people - You can't. But you can change yourself.
9) Practice what you preach.
